Overview

The calculators on CalcVantage run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter — a home price, a down payment, an interest rate, a savings goal — never leave your device and are never saved by us. You do not need an account to use the site, and we do not sell personal information. This policy is short by design: we process only the limited information described below, and only when it is necessary to make the website work or to improve it.

Information we collect

We collect very little information, and it falls into a few categories:

• Information you choose to send. If you use theContact page, you provide your name, email address, subject, and message so we can reply. We use this only to respond to you.
• Basic technical data. Our hosting service may record routine, non-personal data such as browser type, approximate region, the pages you visit, and network log data. This is typical of any website and is used for security and reliability.
• Cookies. With your consent, we and our analytics providers may store small files (cookies) in your browser. See the next section and ourCookie Policy for details.

We do not turn the numbers you type into a calculator, your financial details, or your personal identity in any database.

How we use your information

• To operate, secure, and maintain the website and its features.

The calculators themselves do not rely on third-party services for the mathematics. The arithmetic is performed locally in your browser.

Data security

We take protecting your data seriously. Because the calculators never process your inputs on a server, most of your financial information never leaves your device in the first place. Where we do handle personal data, we apply reasonable organizational and technical measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to any systems we control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep our systems limited and protected.

Data retention

We keep contact messages only as long as necessary to respond to them and address the request, and we aim to delete them soon after. Aggregate analytics statistics are kept without identifying attributes for a longer period. Any preferences stored in your browser remain under your control until you clear them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the European Economic Area or the CPRA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold so little data, exercising these rights is usually straightforward.

CalcVantage serves visitors around the world, and our calculators are tailored for the United States, Canada, and Australia. Any data we hold may be transferred to, and processed in, a country with privacy laws that differ from your own. In such cases we rely on appropriate safeguards and only process the minimum data described in this policy.

Children’s privacy

CalcVantage is a general financial-education website and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it as soon as possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when we add features, change providers, or laws that affect us change. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and — if the change is significant — publish a notice on the website.
